Thanks for reading Raising Good Humans on Substack! My first book, The Five Principles of Parenting: Your Essential Guide to Raising Good Humans is now available for purchase here.
Whew! Today is the day! No more pre-ordering, now you can just order and receive your book immediately. With a healthy mix of fear, light insecurity, and joyful anticipation, I am ready to share this book with all of you. This book was a labor of love. I worried that the world didn’t need another parenting book, that I would have simultaneously too much and too little to say, and that it would be impossible to find the balance between the research and practical advice that made parents feel better, more capable, and more confident.
But if there is one thing that a career spent in developmental psychology has taught me, growth is only possible with challenges and changes. I have grown so much through this process. I’ve made plenty of mistakes, deleted and rewritten many pages, and thought about you with every sentence. At this point I feel confident that this book is going to do some good for parents and caregivers, and provide relief and support. This caregiving job is HARD, and my role is to make it easier. To help us see that we can do less stuff, memorize zero scripts, make tons of mistakes, and still have supportive, wonderful, healthy relationships with our very own good humans.Â
On this launch day, I am celebrating a lifetime full of lessons that I have learned from colleagues, clients, readers, friends, and most importantly my own children. And…I'm asking for 5 ways that I need your help and then I will stop talking about this puppy and just be here.
Thank you. Huge hugs for being loyal subscribers, supporters, and friends.
Order the book if you didn’t pre-order already (that ship has sailed). If you prefer to support local booksellers, check out bookshop where you can shop online but still shop local. I just learned that, so I am paying it forward.
Write a review from wherever you order. Reviews really help to get the book noticed, and to spread the word. Please especially rate and review any books purchased on Amazon (it shockingly really, really matters!).
When you receive the book, snap a quick pic with it and post on social media. Share one thing you love about it and help me to get more copies into the hands of parents in your community. You can even add the bookshop link HERE.
Tell a friend about the book, or about something you found helpful in the book. Parents look to each other for advice, and I’d love to be a part of the support you pass on to your loved ones.
THANK YOU for trusting me. I wouldn’t be here without you!
Congratulations!
Congratulations and thank you for all the hard work.
